Bubbly Summer Cocktail feat. Grapefruit, Lime & Ginger

It’s hot over here, you guys. There’s no getting around it. It’s Florida and it’s July and if you’re outside, unless you’re in a pool, lake, river, pond, ocean or some other body of water I forgot about, you’re sweating. I’m not being dramatic – it’s the exact opposite of people who live in places that have real winter (what’s that like, btw?) that have to turn the heat on in their cars for a while before getting in. When we get ready to drive somewhere during the summer, my kids will literally refuse to get into the car until the a/c has been on full blast for at least a minute.
So, what does one need to bring down the body temp when sweat is pooling in unmentionable places? I’ll give you three guesses but you’ll only need one. (Actually you might need all three because honestly there are quite a few remedies for being hot.)
But if your guess was an ice cold, super fun and flavorful cocktail, heyyy, you’re on my wavelength!
So that’s what I’m here to provide – the recipe for a Callie + Amy original summer cocktail (or mocktail!) that is guaranteed to cool you down and liven you up!
*I feel like I should note that it’s not a prerequisite that you must be hot in order to enjoy this drink. You can drink it at normal temperatures as well – and you’ll want to. It’s so. good.
So here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 lime juiced
1/2 tbs chopped basil
1 shot Patron Tequila (skip this if you’re going the mocktail route, obviously ;))
TJ’s chili lime seasoning blend to rim glass (optional)

Once you have your ingredients, the execution is simple! Check out my super speedy mixology skills to see the process 😉 and the step-by-step is listed below.

-First, rim your glass with TJ’s chili lime seasoning and add ice.
-Mix the coconut nectar and ginger powder thoroughly. Pour the mixture into your glass.
-Add the lime juice, chopped basil, grapefruit sparkling water, shot of Tequila, and drop of doTERRA’s grapefruit oil to glass. Stir well.
-Add a slice of lime if you wish
-Bottoms up!
